2 more shows.

Not long back from staging at Littleover in Derby where i've put in 18 entries. This is a lovely little high quality show where every ticket is hard earned. You have to put good stuff in to win here.

Tomorrow morning I shall be staging at Seagrave, a small village with a fun show that has managed to attract several good local showers. I haven't won most points here for a few years now so I hope to have a good go at this tomorrow. With that in mind i'm just waiting for my victoria sandwich to cool down before I can put the raspberry jam filling in. There is a very hotly contested 'men only' victoria sponge class at Seagrave. Now, ordinarily a man baking is a distinctly homosexual and Yorkshire thing to do, but it is a perfectly manly operation when performed for horticultural show purposes when there are important points at stake.

Like Mr. Beckham, I just love a Victoria Sandwich with a bit of raspberry filling. Which websites do you recommend? :-)

Good luck for both shows.

There's nothing homosexualist about entering classes in the Domestic section.
I was half way through knitting a jumper for our show last week but dropped a stitch,so I undid all the wool again and knitted myself a willy warmer instead.

Do you dress up in womens clothing as well as baking cakes?

Any results yet?

13 red cards in todays shows boys......but sadly a big fat zilch for my vikky sandwich which was quite possibly the worst cake ever baked by man, woman or beast.

Full reports in the coming days.

13 cards seems like an excellent result to me.

Try the Fairy Cake class next year.

You gotta be kidding....the kids put in some amazing fairy cakes.

And Dan....that must have been an extra large jumper because as we all know from legend (a legend only you believe in by all accounts)you are the most hugely endowed man in Yorkshire.

Which is why other men insist on having their photos taken with you!

Well done on the 13 red cards, an excellent result. Perhaps you could enter the chutney classes with your surplus veg in them to add to your points next year.
