Take one bent french bean....leave it for an hour at room temperature after cutting....
Apply gentle and steady pressure in the opposite direction to the bend for a minute or two. ....
Voila! Now it's one straight bean! Runner beans take a little more care and attention but they can be straightened too.

thanks for the advice at the show on monday about leaving a bit of stork on my beans also about strainghtening the beans, glad you done well on monday i can see alot of care and attention has been made to get to your standard of showing, some people i have spoken to have said "i grow veg to eat not to show" but to do both in my opinion is twice as good i am pleased with my allotment and with what i get off it but i was also pleased showing what i have grown, and was absolutely over the moon when i found out i got third prize for my cucumbers it may not sound much but it meant alot to me and it made my day especially as joyce my partner got first for her red tomato chutney, it gave the whole family a well needed happy lift as joyce's dad died last month it was nice to see her smile again, i think we have got showing bug will look on your blog for tips in the future cheers mate :-)
Glad I could be of some help Ian. Keep in touch and don't be afraid to ask any questions in future.
Regards
Simon
