Simond. i have always been under the impression that after your rhubarb has been growing for more than 3 years it is advisable to dig up in the autum and cut of the woody parts of the root and then split in half and also let the frost get at them before you replant.What info do you have.
I'll let you know after the talk Geoffo. However a few years ago I split what I thought was an old crown.....ended up killing it!
